All the Things I Hate

Why do I contemplate all the world's certain fate, when I really think the world's great
Except for all the things I hate? Like poverty, greed, deception and need, lies, lies, lies
Why do I think of those things that I hate? They just bring me down. It's all the things that I love that always rise above
Like intelligence, sustenance, laughter, intimacy, sentimentality, fun, sun and everyone
Truth, freedom, life, living, spontaneity, giving, caring, sharing
Why do I think of the things that I hate? You know they all bring me down
We know that all the world is great except for all the things I hate
Like crime, slime and losing time, injustice, prejudice. All the things I hate
Like foolish pride, inhumanity, selfishness, anger, war, death, intolerance, distrust, disrespect
All the things I really love always seem to rise above. Like laughter and fun and the time I spend with everyone
